Installation Instructions
Enabling Indic support on Windows XP:To enable your machine to accept and display Marathi characters:
- On your Windows Desktop, click on the Start button and go to the Control Panel.
- On the Control Panel, click on the Regional and Language Options icon.
- On the Regional and Language Options dialog box, click on the tab:

Languages, and select the check box for Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages (including Thai). You may need the Windows installation CD to complete this operation.
Indic language support is now enabled on your machine. This means that you could use the 11 Indian Languages that Windows XP supports on your system.
To add Marathi as an optional input language on your machine:
- On your Windows Desktop, click on the Start button and go to the Control Panel.
- On the Control Panel, click on the Regional and Language Options icon.
- On the Regional and Language Options dialog, click on the tab: Languages,and click on the Details button. The Text Services and Input Languages dialog is displayed.
- Click on the Add… button. The Add Input Languages dialog box is displayed.
- From the Input Language: drop down list box, select the language of your choice and click OK. This language is added to your Installed Services list on the Text Services and Input Languages dialog.
- You will now see the language bar which will give the options of changing the input language to English or Marathi or any other language that has been added by following the above steps.
Installing Office Marathi LIPBefore installing the language build, please ensure that you have installed the English or Hindi Office 2003 on your machine.
To install the Office Marathi, on your language CD go to Marathi LIP folder and double click on LIP.exe.
Accept the default settings of the application. The Marathi version of Microsoft Office should now be installed on your machine.
To change your Office 2003 language settings:
- On your Windows desktop, click on the Start button and select All Programs.
- Then select Microsoft Office, followed by Microsoft Office Tools. From the menu that is displayed, select Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings. The Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings dialog is displayed.
- Select the Marathi from the Display Office 2003 in: drop down list box. Click Ok.
You can now launch any of the standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) in Marathi. You can switch the User Interface back and forth by following the previous steps.
