Gujarat E-Governance Application
Gujarat Roads & Building Department also known as Public Works Department, is an apex government body for development and maintenance of infrastructure facilities within the state of Gujarat.

The department’s primary responsibility is to develop infrastructure facility for the state. It undertakes projects such as bridge building and maintenance, state highway maintenance and repair, construction of national highway, building – maintenance work for government owned buildings and infrastructure property.
This department, for efficient and smooth operation, has divided the function in terms of hierarchy and distances. The department has offices state wide with varying levels of functional and financial authority. Thus, the department faces a difficulty in getting immediate information related to various on-going projects, deployment of resources, availability of resources, un-utilized resources, over-run of schedules, financial implication, etc. The department envisaged the need for an information system. Thus was born the R&B e-Governance application, developed by DEV Information Technology Pvt. Ltd.

The system entails major function such as Proposal and Application Acceptance, Administrative Approval, Technical Sanction, Rate Analysis, Schedule of Rates, Drawing Records, Vendor Registration.

The application used a Gujarati Unicode interface and database for the House allocation and Rent collection Module.

The primary responsibility of this information system is to provide the authorities of varied functional position, with data and information related to the functions under their control, for better and efficient departmental operation. Thereby helping the authorities in efficient governance of the department’s operation for the benefit of the citizen.
