Allen Bailochan Tuladhar
Allen Bailochan Tuladhar has over 14 years of experience in the field of local
language computing in Nepal having developed the first True Type Font for
Windows 3.1 in 1991 for Nepali language.
Allen has a number of other firsts to his credit:
Allen The first Nepali language typing tutor in
1997, the first Nepali language spellchecker for Microsoft Word 6.0 in 1998 the
first Open Type Font in 2000.

Allen is also localizing Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Officer 2003 and
Proofing Tools 2003 into Nepali language. He is the Chief Executive Officer of
Unlimited NuMedia Pvt Ltd
(http://www.unlimit.com)which handles software development and IT
enabled services for the US and Europe from Nepal. Allen is also very active
with the local community. He has been the first elected General Secretary of
Computer Association of Nepal. This is the apex association of all the sectors
of Information and Communication Technology in Nepal.Allen is also the moderator
for the community glossary project of technical terms in Nepali language.

Similarly, Allen serves voluntarily as a service to the country as the Member
Secretary of Nepali Language in Information Technology, Steering Committee
under the High Level Commission for Information of His Majesty’s Government of

Bob Eaton
Bob has had several changes of direction in his career path. He started life
after college as an Electrical engineer doing embedded firmware development for
Allen-Bradley Co. Then he completed his Masters degree in computer science and
switched to doing software development on the Windows platform. Currently, he
is pursuing a Ph. D. in linguistics with a focus on Indian languages from the
University of Texas at Arlington.

He likes to develop applications that simplify his work, but which can also be
used by other people.
He developed the Vocabulary Manager program for language learning, and a
programming interfaces for encoding conversion utilities.
His most recent software developments have been in the area of enabling Unicode
support in different linguistic software packages. His area of specialty is C++
programming with MFC/COM and most recently C# in .Net.
He and his family (wife, Barbara, and four kids, Hannah, Michael, Peter, and
Stephen) have lived in India for 5 years studying Hindi and the Kangri language
in Himachal Pradesh. |
