Dikshit for three-language policy
South Indian languages should be taught in all the Universities across the country, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit has said.
The south Indian languages are presently being taught in some Universities in north India. "This is not enough. It should be taught in all the universities in the country," Dikshit has said.
Stating that Hindi-speaking states should actively implement the three-language formula, she has said that every Indian should learn at least two languages of the country.
Stressing the need for Hindi to absorb "all good things" from other Indian languages, Dikshit has said scholars all over the country have put in their mite to develop Hindi, which has been a link language. "Hindi is an easy language to learn. This fact was appreciated by Mahatma Gandhi," the chief minister has said.
