| Tegic Communications, which develops embedded software for mobile devices, has launched enhanced version of the popular T9 text input software in five Indian languages namely Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil and Urdu. |
Tegic's T9 text input predictive software helps users of mobile phones and portable digital assistants to write SMS quickly in 49 languages, including five Indian languages. In early 2006, Tegic expects to introduce its text input software in three more Indic languages. |
The new version of the Hindi T9 software offers users advanced word completion functionality, enabling mobile users to press just a few keys to pull up the desired word. |
By incorporating T9 text input into mobile communications products, handset manufacturers will be able to solve the fundamental problem of typing and sending text messages quickly, Tegic has said. |
